PROJECT DESCRIPTION / SCOPE OF WORK:
PERFORMED AN
XP-SWMM STUDY FOR THE OFFSITE CANAL
BOUNDARY CONDITIONS, AN ONSITE ICPR WET DETENTION POND AND DRY RETENTION POND
STUDY, AND AN ANALYSIS OF THE SITE'S PROPOSED WASTEWATER FLOW THAT WILL
ULTIMATELY DISCHARGE INTO A INDIAN RIVER COUNTY LIFTSTATION. THE ONSITE POND
SIZING STUDY INCLUDED AN ADDITIONAL 2.9 ACRES OF 90TH STREET RUNOFF AS IT WAS
REQUIRED BY THE COUNTY FOR THE 24 AC SITE TO ATTENUATE THE COUNTY ROAD'S RUNOFF
DUE TO REQUIRED WIDENING OF THE ROAD FOR THE PROJECT. THE ONSITE POND WAS
SIZED AT 2.3 AC WITH A DRY POND SIZED AT 1.0 AC TO PROVIDE THE TREATMENT TRAIN
FOR PHOSPHOROUS AND NITROGEN REMOVAL. INDIAN RIVER LAGOON IS CONSIDERED AN
IMPAIRED WATER BODY. ST. JOHNS RIVER WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT REQUIRED US TO
PROVIDE AN 80% COMMERCIAL LAND USE POLLUTANT REMOVAL EFFICIENCY WITH OUR 14 DAY
RESIDENCE TIME WET POND (60%) AND DRY RETENTION POND PROVIDING THE REMAINING
POLLUTANT REMOVAL, ESPECIALLY FOR THE NITRATES.
PONDS 3.3 NUMERICAL MODEL, WITH
A BUILT-IN MODFLOW ALGORITHIM, WAS THEN UTILIZED TO ASSURE THAT THE WATER TABLE
RECOVERED WITHIN THE REQUIRED 36 HOUR RECOVERY PERIOD. DRY RETENTION
UNDERDRAINS WERE NOT NECESSARY IN OUR INITIAL ANALYSIS USING THE PONDS NUMERICAL
MODELING SOFTWARE.
